So welcome yet to another familiar location. This one is the dairy plant converted into a service station in 1959. The previous time I was here, I fell and got my first urbex injury. Now I am back. But as the appearance of the building seems unchanged, I decided not to even leave my car.Continue reading “The Injury Didn’t Prevent Me From Retrying”

Celebrating 30’s And Checking On Locations Part IV
The following location was already out of town, but it was still part of the same trip to my former home town. This time it was about a former service station documented earlier in here. The place looked about the same as it did previously. Going around to see if I can find a pointContinue reading “Celebrating 30’s And Checking On Locations Part IV”
Later That Night Part I
So much for the train stations. We’ll get back to them at some point, sooner or later. Now it’s time for another kind of a station, but not before a background story. I spent the evening in my childhood city. I visited a friend, whose washing machine and dryer I used to laundering my clothesContinue reading “Later That Night Part I”
That’s Not Where The Fuel Was Supposed To Be
Now this location here is something I’ve been longing to visit for a long time. As you can see, parts of it have been demolished. A petrol station last operated here some time around the early 2010’s. The building was already closed back then and there were just the pumps and the machines where youContinue reading “That’s Not Where The Fuel Was Supposed To Be”
From Service To Lamps And Electrics Part II
A close up of the grease pit. Looks like a lot of oil down there. “Let the liqueor do the thinking” is something I rather like. Well, well, who is this Interius guy? What I believe to being the original part of the garage. It rather reminds me of this former dairy plant turned intoContinue reading “From Service To Lamps And Electrics Part II”
From Service To Lamps And Electrics Part I
Well, well, well, what do we have in here? This is clearly looking like a former business premises with a residential wing at the back. With some advanced level graffiti artists having practised at the back. This is a level above badly made tags and a level belove masterpieces. Especially the one on the right.Continue reading “From Service To Lamps And Electrics Part I”
Tour De Finland 2021
I had changed jobs the previous autumn. This meant that I still didn’t have a full summer holiday. I got three weeks, and I decided to have them 2+1: two weeks around the largest folk music festival in the country and one week in August, when I was due to perform at a smaller townContinue reading “Tour De Finland 2021”
There Are Two Kinds Of Adventures Part IV
Oh yes, of course! Back in the days you could actually get service at service stations. The garage was big enough for trucks, which was probably handy, when the earth moving company moved in. The back of the garage. And another version of the first picture, where the light was set so that the outsidesContinue reading “There Are Two Kinds Of Adventures Part IV”
There Are Two Kinds Of Adventures Part III
Continuing our journey towards our primary location, our route took us past one of my old discoveries, the former Shell petrol station by the highway. Something had changed, however. The graffiti on the café windows was still there, but it was cut in half. The middle window was broken. There was finally a way in.Continue reading “There Are Two Kinds Of Adventures Part III”
When Service Still Meant Service
Another location, which I had passed by some time earlier and only now was able to go take a closer look. This is a former Shell service station built in 1964. Fuel was sold here until the early 2000’s, and since then it has hosted an earth moving company, at least according to Google Maps.Continue reading “When Service Still Meant Service”
