A Midsummer Date Part I

It was now Midsummer eve, and I was shuttling from village to village in Southeastern Finland. I was in a hurry. And I was in a hurry, because I had an appointment.

Some months ago (a few weeks in real life), I told you, that I went to my hotel and opened Tinder after a rather successful day of exploring. Well, that night I matched a girl, who seemed cute and nice, and we had been talking for a few weeks at this point. We agreed to meet and go explore around her home town together. If we were a good match, she would join me for a three day road trip around Eastern Finland. If we weren’t, she would just go home.

Our original plan was to start from this former tuberculosis sanatorium, but as I was a bit late from my schedule, we planned a different route. And again we immediately found something interesting.

I first thought, that this was an association house of some kind, but it later turned out, that it was an old garrison for sawmill workers. It had fallen into bad shape and a demolition permit had been around for some years. Yet the building still stood there.

Behind the building was a second entrance. It was sealed.

This was as close as we got to getting inside.

But the night was still young and there was a lot to see.
