What is this? A Finnish title? Why?
Well, that is actually the title of a Finnish Romani Song. A direct translation of the beginning of its lyrics would be something like “Why won’t the doors open for us, is our race to blame for this?” When I started writing this post, the song started playing in my head.
Which means, that I am again approaching one of the locations, which I have for long tried to visit with absolutely no success.

This, of course, is the back side of the nursing home I found way back in 2020 and tried another visit later that summer. In 2021 I didn’t bother, but I’ve come again to test my luck.

It looks like it isn’t that abandoned after all. Rescue dogs are trained in the area.

The back of the newer parts of the complex.

The courtyard. The oldest part of the building is up front.

The largest section of the building was built in the 1950’s.

The original and most beautiful part.

The 1950’s section was connected to the original part.

The 1950’s part was by far the largest.

Despite being abandoned for years, somebody was still mowing the grass here.

Below the balconies.

Back behind the building, again no way in.
I wonder, who will make it first: me or the bulldozer.
