Another look at the entrance to the basement. I still wasn’t willing to go there, so instead I headed up to have a look at the second floor.

The words to a song. It is so old I do not understand the title. However the first line ‘Out of line, the cowards and the crippled’, says enough.

The last tenants have left quite an imposing carpet behind.

Two military related poems. There is a large garrison some 30 kilometers away, but still this extremely warlike imagery was a bit surprising.

The upstairs apartment was identical to the one downstairs in terms of layout.

However the kitchen downstairs was far more modern than this one.

A Newspaper from November 2002.

The upstairs apartment was much better preserved than the one downstairs.

A closeup of the wallpaper pattern. This can be no newer than the early 1980’s.

The walls have been of a lovely turquoise color before.

Let’s move on to the bedroom. Which seems to be the final resting place of somebody.

And that somebody looks like a decomposing rabbit. I wonder, what has happened here. Either the poor thing has been attacked outside and has crawled in to die with its last strength. Or then it has died a natural death here and birds have eaten it.
Poor thing.

The all too traditional cans of pickled cucumber were present here, too.

The cupboards are similar to the ones downstairs.

I didn’t believe that the stairs could become any steeper than they were so far, but it is possible. I’ve never seen stairs as steep as the ones leading to the attic. This is about the last thing which could still be considered stairs and not a ladder.

The lower wing of the apartment building could be seen through the window. The roof doesn’t look very healthy anymore.

As expected the attic was just a storage space.

Which contained a surprising amount of stuff. There has been a family with children living here. And when they left, they forgot to empty their attic storage, it seems.

An ice hockey player from a very old board hockey game.

The school seen from the attic of the apartment building.

More military related stuff. The bird is wearing a uniform and some military badges. The other page contains the will of a soldier. These have clearly been made by a kid, who really respected the army. Which is fairly strange.
In the last post from this location I’ll show you the low wing of the residential building.
