As we made our way back from the old village school and sightseeing tower, we stopped by an old farm we had spotted on our way earlier that day.

Judging by the tracks it was evident, that a local farmer, maybe even the owner passed by the yard on their way to the fields. This farm however, seemed very much abandoned.

In addition to the old farm house there was a granary.

And an animal shelter, probably an old cow shed.

I’m mostly interested in residential buildings, so I passed the other buildings and went straight for the house. Judging by its windows it definitely is abandoned.

The only remaining question was, whether we could find a point of entry or not.

As you can see, the answer was yes.

The farm house was more like a cottage. Quite primitive and mostly empty. The inhabitants had left a long time ago and taken their belongings with them.

A few chairs was all that remained.

Like all old houses from this era, wood was used for heating.

The house was overlooking large fields.

Pink really isn’t a standard color for doors in Finland. But I kind of like that.

The last love letters are still in the stove.

This chair hasn’t been treated very well.

The traditional lonely shoe.

The note says please don’t slam the door. I wonder, who it is there for.

The kitchen with a very traditional table and benches.

The poor curtains.

The view from the kitchen window. The cow shed is to the right, a rather large highway is up front.

Back in the days before fridges food was stored in cupboards like this. They were a bit cooler than the room temperature.
Another post to go from here.
