I meet a lot of people in the construction business because of my occupation. It is a well known secret in the branch, that I photograph abandoned buildings. Some people even tip me about places around Finland.
I was visiting a bridge construction site, when I was told about a huge mansion in the center of a village. I was a bit sceptical, because I had visited this village every single summer of my childhood and couldn’t recall a mansion. Even my local friend stated, that she knew nothing of it.
Yet there it was.

Yet I don’t think that this is a mansion. It looks more like an association house of some sort, but old maps don’t reveal anything like that in this location.

Renovations hadn’t done the house any good.

There were several entrances, but all were shut.

Behind the house was a massive porch.

Just look at it slowly growing a jungle.

No entries here.
It turns out, that the building was the former home of the municipal doctor. Built in 1921 it served as a store before being abandoned.
