My third location that evening was a residential area outside the city center. It had originally consisted of 14 blocks of flats and a sauna building. In 2020 a new detail plan was approved for the area. 10 of the houses were protected, four were allowed to be demolished and replaced with new buildings.
The residents were evicted in 2021. The houses are owned by a student apartment association and the municipal rental house company, who claim that renovating them is too expensive. They have since pushed for demolition.
Again no high hopes of entering, but let’s see.

It wasn’t exactly difficult to find the houses.

There had been both wooden houses and houses built of bricks. The brick ones were the ones, which were demolished.

The houses did seem to be in a bad condition.

So many pictures, so little to say. The houses were almost identical, had four stairways and two storeys each.

Doors, downstairs windows and stairways windows were all boarded shut. This one suffered in the hands of an arsonists back in 2022.

That’s why the second floor of an entire stairway was covered with plywood.

Even the roof had a temporary fix. After all, the buildings were protected.

Another arson, it seems.

And more houses.

They were all tightly closed.

These were just the houses facing the road. There were more at the back of the block.

And these are the back sides of the buildings seen earlier.

It wasn’t that different here.

Back in 2022 and 2023 there was a massive wave of arsons in the region. A young student was convicted of around 20 of them. This was one of the fires he was suspected for.

More closed windows.

Nature was close to the houses.

Another one.

And another one.
Another post coming up from this location. Perhaps there is something more to see.
