Over The Hills And Far Away Part II

An old letterbox. And at the sight of this I immediately knew what I would find.

Apartments for the postal workers, of course. They even featured toilets, which was luxurious in the early 1950’s this far away.

A very old hat of the nationwide co-operative bank. Yes, Finns love co-operatives.

Why fit apartments with such lamps? The light must have been awful.

This seems like the former kitchen.

A regional newspaper from the late 1990’s.

And more newspapers. The funny thing is, that this is a paper aimed at construction workers. I know the current editor-in-chief.

But back in 1999 when this issue came out, I didn’t even know that it existed.

The kitchen was old fashioned and primitive.

Shampoo and booze – although that bottle no longer contains vodka. Interestingly enough it has the name of a company, which marketed that brand between the late 1990’s and early 2000’s. Yet another sign, that this place indeed has been abandoned for over 20 years.

So much for the downstairs apartments. I think that there was only one. The rest was occupied by the office.

Upstairs there are three more, it seems.

But before them let’s have a look from the balcony.

Entering the first one of the apartments.

Another bathroom mirror selfie.

Two beds and vintage curtains.

Different kind of curtains in every window, actually.

I wonder, what that fix is.

Yet again a different kind.

Rules for selling beer in Finland. Not for drunk people, minors or for debt. Interestingly enough you could buy it with a credit card, which basically is – debt.

Another vintage kitchen.

A can of buttermilk. I can’t remember such a brand.

A very interesting kitchen lamp.

Although this was an interesting location, there was so little left, that it was quickly explored. So moving on to the next apartment.
