As one of the interviews I was doing was in a small town, where my friend lived, I stayed at her place. She was on a business trip, and not at home. She left me a key in a flower pot outside, filled the fridge with food and said that the apartment was all mine.
I had to take my car to service in the remote corner of the country. First of all the left blinker had fallen of. I had ordered a new one to a town, which I expected to reach at the end of the week. That was no issue.
But the issue was, that the rear part of the exhaust pipe was also falling off. I drove the car to a garage, they ordered the parts and said, that they hoped that the parts would arrive on time.
My friend borrowed me a bike. As I knew of a village with several abandoned buildings, I decided to borrow my friend’s bike to go there to look for something to photograph. 10 kilometers would not be an issue.
Unfortunately I forgot, that I was in a very hilly area. Then it started raining. The trip was pretty quickly becoming a nightmare, and I wasn’t willing to go home empty handed.
Luckily I had spotted an abandoned looking cottage by the road earlier. My surprise was huge, when I enterd the overgrown yard and noticed, that there wasn’t just one house. There were two.

This one was the house I hadn’t spotted earlier. It looked to be the newer one of the two.

The first thing on the porch was the freezer.

A freezer, a closet and a bench, that was the interior of the porch. There are lovely shades of turquoise here.

Next there was a small hall with a washing machine. It doesn’t look too old.

This looks like a former living room, although there also was a bed. The big bookshelf is blocking a door to another room.

The floor again suffers of a strange, bubbling effect.

The large oven occupied a big part of the room.

Not my best window shot.

An alcove with a bed, a bookshelf and a very vintage TV.

A cute little shelf with small pots and baskets of plastic flowers.

A lovely little cupoard hidden under all junk.

Another vitage hoover. Those are common in abandoned buildings.

An almost full bag of graham flour.

A really retro curtain in front of a wall.

The toilet was very small. The water boiler was above the seat.

The kitchen with the old fashioned table and benches.

A calendar from the late 1990’s. This is probably when the house was abandoned, as there were banking bills from the same year on the floor.

A door, a window and a vintage lamp.

The old and new stoves stand next to each other. The fish on the wall is a rather strange thing.

The cupoard has been left full of clothes.

Is it just me, or do there seem to be beds in about every room of the house?

And is it just me, or is the house a bit tilted to about every direction?
Let’s see the other house next.
