There’s Always Something Exciting Near Railroads

I have said several times, that there’s always something exciting near railroads. This is especially the case with railroad stations, which have been closed from traffic. Usually it’s shops and railroaders’ apartments, sometimes even old industry.

This time it was definitely old industry.

The old factory building was old and long. It extends all the way to the house seen in the background.

This was kind of cute.

Another section of the building. It was built gradually between the 1940’s and 1950’s for a factory manufacturing mortar, which could sustain fire and acids, for pulp mill kettles. Since the 1950’s it also manufactured plastic mortar, pipes and tanks. It hasn’t functioned in years.

Although the property looks abandoned, it is the address of a company, which does air conditioning and metal works in buildings. The area was full of old cars and other junk. I wasn’t really sure, if it was still in use or not, so I left.
