A Selection From The Past Part II

Time hasn’t treated this business very well. See, how the floor tiles have bubbled.

There was a small kitchen downstairs.

The floor has bubbled even here.

An extremely old knitting magazine, probably from the 1980’s.

And a crossword magazine from the late 1990’s.

A package of kraft paper.

An ad for the national village store day from 1997. I believe, that the store has closed betwen 1997 and 1999.

Even the small back room once had large windows, which have now been covered.

The store has closed at seven pm on weekdays. That’s pretty early by modern standards.

Poor teddy. Or whatever that is.

One more photo from the store.

A flash from my childhood. I’ve had countless of these. The cola-orange is better than just the orange, though.

The store has now been explored, but this adventure is far from over. It was customary to this era of business buildings to have an apartment or two upstairs. This should be the door leading there.

Behind the door I was greeted with lovely, red valenki boots. I’ve had similar ones, but they were grey. I was rather famous for wearing them during the harsh winters in the North.

I guessed right. The stairs up were behind the side door.

There was a narrow, messy corridor beginning from the top of the stairs.

The first room looks like a kitchen.

More flashes from my childhood. This was one of my favorite games some 30 years ago.

I’m not very sure about the nature of this room anymore.

Especially, as the shelf on the other side of it had completely different contents.

To be continued.
