Another quiet rural village street somwhere in Finland.

And the old village store called Talvikin Valinta (Talvikki’s Selection). This is one of the best known urbex locations in Finland. If you live in the South and have never visited this one, you’re really not an urbexer.

Prices of meat and prepared food products. The prices are still in Finnish Marks, which gave way to the Euro in 2002.

Newspapers from the late 1990’s. This is probably, when the store closed.

The store as seen from the entrance. It wasn’t very big. But back in the days this was what village stores looked like. There were up to two or three in every village.

The local people once picked their groceries from those shelves.

The back with a fridge or a freezer for cold products.

The selection of the store can’t have been very large. Yet they had shopping carts.

Wonder, what this display has held.

The other end of the store with yet again some cold displays. The heating systems seems pretty primitive.

The dairy products have been in this small cold room.

This view covers most of the store.

A rare view from inside the dairy product room.

A special offer: yoghurt has cost one Mark per cup.

At the back of the store was a door leading to the storage area behind the building.

A bag for frying Christmas ham.

From the Christmas season to bikini season.

A season programme by a local hockey club from the 1970’s. A fantastic discovery.
Let’s make more fantastic discoveries in the next post.
