Here we have another ordinary one family home. Which actually turned out to be a very different exploration from all previously visited.
That summer I got a message from an old friend in university. She had bought an old house, which she and her spouse intended to demolish to make way for a dream home designed specifically for their needs. When she messaged me, the house was still full of the previous inhabitants’ stuff. She had noticed my road trip and gave me the opportunity to photograph it all before they emptied the house and demolished it. Demolition permit had already been granted, so the only thing that was left was to empty it and let the bulldozers move in.
My trip to the location was a bit too late. They had already emptied most of it, but they still granted me full access and the opportunity to photograph.

And this is how the house looked from the front yard with a nice Volvo lurking on the driveway.

The hall seen from the front door. Everything looked like the late 1980’s or early 1990’s.

It was pretty big, too. And it hadn’t been left in a very good condition by the previous inhabitants.

The coat rack was decorated with butterflies. I kind of love this idea.

One of the 101 Dalmatians promoting a book club of children. I think I even belonged to this club for a while as a child.

The former living room with a little furniture still left. The fan on the roof isn’t a too common feature in modern Finnish homes.

A classic: a Fortuna game. Well, the frisbee is also a classic.

A random corner of stuff and dirt. The former owners had left most of their stuff behind.

A closer look at the fan. A somewhat similar lamp without the fan could be found at The Race Gamer’s House.

The cupboards in the ground floor bedroom were from the 1990’s.

As was the kitchen.

There was even an old fashioned baking oven. It wasn’t the original one, it had probably been rebuilt in the late 1980’s or the 1990’s, but it was still there.

There were interesting food related themes in the tiling. This one makes me believe it’s from the 1980’s.

The stove was still littered with the mess of the old inhabitants. The drops and the spice bag actually refer to instant noodles.

One more look back towards the hall, which is absolutely shining in the sunlight.

The last room downstairs was the toilet. And after that it is time to move upstairs. But not right now. Wait and see.
