So we are suddenly in a kitchen now? And not a very well looking kitchen.
This is the one family house I visited not so long ago, but couldn’t enter because of the neighbours being too close. Well it’s 5.55 am on a Saturday morning, which means that they are probably sleeping now.
During my first visit I was pretty unsure if the house was abandoned or not. I only had to enter through the unlocked door to realize, it was definitely abandoned. I’ve never smelled such strong stink of mold.

This is the living room. As you can see, the roof is leaking everywhere and the house is beginning to fall apart.

The inhabitants have been eager readers. The funny thing about this shelf is, that both the blue encyclopedia series on the top shelf and the black and red encyclopedia series on the shelf below it could be found at my grandparents’ place. That red and black series now sits in my shelf.

An old synth. The people living here have really been cultured.

An oriental vase. Not a very common thing in Finland, I’ve spotted several of these once in a mental asylum.

What obviously was once a bedroom can’t be accessed anymore. The roof has completely collapsed.

We had been inside for just a minute, but it was already getting unbearable. Everything was covered in mold. The smell was unbearable and our eyes were running. We decided to quicly go through the house and then run.

There was a strange pile of booklets or notebooks on the window board.

Even the living room roof was on the verge of collapse. As these photos are closer to three years old by now, it might already have collapsed.
The state of the place actually reminds me of a moldy ruin I visited two years earlier. It had already collapsed.

The religious drawer box with condolence addresses and a painting of a church.

At the back of the hall was a dark corridor.

The amount of books and magazines in the building was pretty astonishing. They were everywhere.

The washroom. The washing machine looks surprisingly new. I don’t think it was in use for a very long time before the house was abandoned.

The sauna, or what remains of it. Even there had been a collapse.

The 1990’s called and wanted their computer back. I actually remember this kind of models, where the mainframe was placed horizontally under the screen.

I just love them. These would sell for a good price at the local vintage store. Unfortunately, due to the state of the house, they are a health hazard.

One final look towards the living room.

And we are finally outside breathing fresh air. We managed to tour the house in three minutes, which is probably less than you’ve spent reading this post, if you’ve read this far. Our eyes were running, our noses were itching, our sinuses were full of bitter slime and our throats were hurting.
The roof looks intact, which is a surprise considering the wreck inside. What has probably happened is, that the roof has leaked, the sawdust used as insulation has gotten wet and become too heavy for the ceiling.
We decided to drive to a local petrol station to have breakfast. Two locations done, and it was only the start of our adventures that day.
