The millenials in Finland have their own way of mocking boomers, who constantly think that everything was better before and that the current youth have it too easy. We start sarcastically telling, what all things were better, and what they had to endure. And every single time somebody brings up the ‘yeah, we used to ski to school around the year’, joke.
Well, I suddenly run into a former village school in such a remote location, that I believe some kids indeed used skis to get to school – not around the year, but quite many months.

And there it is. I have no idea, when school use ended, and there definitely has been some further use after that. It looks like that has ended too, though.

The trees were already growing pretty close to the building.

Now this is something. Somebody’s made a big hole in the wall and installed a tall steel pillar next to it. This was suspicious enough to repel me away.
