Slick As Silk Part III

I guess this is where the main switchboard was located.

And you needed quite heavy electronics to operate the factory. In the 1960’s there were 250 mechanical looms in operation.

Some of the systems seemed more advanced than others.

Some of them were also probably modernized during the almost 50 years of operation.

That looks heavy.

Sometimes engineering is amazing.

Somebody has had fun with the door.

I’ve said it several times, but this was not a pleasant environment.

Something important was operated from here.

Some places were even outright scary.

I wonder, what all this has been for.

Or this.

Some sort of a driver desk maybe?

The sticker on the door makes absolutely no sense. The webpage also has seemed to be a joke.

It was just another small room with a mess inside.

Another room with switchboards. I think I’ve had enough.

And finally the front of the building. Like I said, it was very advanced way back in 1961.

I wonder what the three concrete towers are. This is just a guess, but could it be that the building originally had three production lines?

The company remains a very famous textile manufacturer. It nowadays produces its textiles abroad.

The building is in a really sad state.

Moving back to the back just to see what was there.

I am done here. Not the most beautiful building, but it comes with a very interesting history! As of 2025 the building apparently still stands.
