Slick As Silk Part I

What a very messed up place we have here.

And although it doesn’t look very tempting, it indeed was.

This here is the first hall of a former textile mill. When it opened in 1961 it was a state of the art facility weaving silk. After several ownership and productional changes it last produced workwear in 2008. That summer the company owning it decided to close it down at the end of the year. They went bankrupt that november and the place was abandoned.

So by the time I got there, the place had been abandoned for 14 years. Vandals had done their job during that time.

As the halls were dark and large, photographing was a bit difficult.

Light at the end of a tunnel.

Let’s see what’s behind that opening.

Stairs to the basement? Thanks but no thanks.

This guy again!

I wonder what that has been used for.

The shape of the roof tells me, that the facade of the building is to the right.

A kitchen sink?

Another set of stairs down. Still not taking them, although these seem bigger than the previous ones.

Finally some light. These are either office or break rooms.

Although empty, this area was much more interesting than the big dark halls.

The hangout of the local youth.

Some of the hangarounds have even left their clothes behind.

A smashed wall.

This has definitely been a break room.

More empty and smashed rooms.

A corner room. Probably another office.
