When preparing for my trip, I scrolled through old maps in order to find interesting locations. As they are based on a terrain map, high structures, such as chimneys, are marked on it. This was especially helpful with old sawmills and other factories. If the chimney was left and connected to a building, there was something left.
This was the case with a former sawmill. There were a chimney and a small section of the building left, probably meaning the power plant.

And that was the case. It was never a big sawmill and I don’t know when it closed. But it had its own railroad track connected to the main network.

Most of the buildings had been demolished, but there were still some large concrete structures in the forest.

The traditional private property, camera surveillance, get out -signs. It may well be, that this building is still used as a storage. It is well suited for it.

Factory area, unauthorized access forbidden???
This is thick bullshit. I don’t know when the sawmill closed, but nothing has been manufactured here in ages. Unless somebody is distilling moonshine for the whole village in there.

Unfortunately the doors were tightly shut.

Functioning factories also usually have windows. But as you can see, there have been doorways to demolished sections of the building on all floors.

I’m just guessing, but I think this part of the building has been built after the sawmill closed. According to aerial photos this happened between 1975 and 1990.

There were other buildings left in the area, but their condition was rather bad.

Compared to old aerial photos, this seems to have been the sawmill headquarters. Not sure, though.
So no entries, just a random set of photos from an industrial area turning into a jungle and nature taking its own back.
