Years Go By, Things Stay The Same

As this was the third consecutive summer I spent touring Finland, I had a long list of locations I had previously tried to visit, but hadn’t found a point of entry. My plan was to visit them again and again until I would succeed. And that’s why I found myself in a familiar location once again.

I am once again back at the former school area, which I also featured on my Tour De Finland 2021. The old citizen school is now the last one standing. It looks exactly the same as it did the previous year, and I’m still not sure if it is partially in use or not.

I guess the only way to find that out is to go closer and see.

I’m pretty sure, that this boat wasn’t here last year.

Yes, I’m sure about this once again.

The clocks are about 20 minutes late. Whether nobody has adjusted them in years, or they have completely stopped, remains a mystery.

The building over there was being demolished during my previous visit. It is still there, it has just changed shape.

The back side of the school. It does still look empty.

The previous year’s duct tape fix had failed.

I don’t think I’ve tried this door before.

This small and messy corridor looked the most promising, but nope. The place was sealed.

A narrow alley between the school and a power station, which is probably still in use.

The machinery to the left doesn’t look very usable anymore.

Another dead end. Still no way in.

I shall return as many times as is needed.
