A lovely piece of old furniture damaged by idiots.

A better look at the room reveals, that it actually seems like a former bedroom.

An aerial photo of an island. If I’m not completely mistaken, this is the island of Lauttasaari in Western Helsinki.

It seems that the inhabitants really loved the area, as this seems to be the same island, only in an older photo from before the construction of Länsiväylä.

Another photo from Lauttasaari with more books. And they’re all non-fiction. One of them is an art catalogue from 1983. There have been some really cultural people living in this villa.

A view of the bedroom to the other direction. The bed is to the right.

Moving back through the hall.

A file, which has contained a journal called ‘British Birds’ from 1974 to 1975. I’ll just have to repeat what I previously said: this has been a very cultured home. Nobody in Finland knew English back then. To order an international journal was a real rarity.

The recipe of a pumpkin casserole. Somebody’s written ‘Has been made’ on it.

Entering what I assume has been the living room.

Looking back towards the entrance of the room. The chairs and the sofa hint at this really being the former living room.

In the corner was this mess of magazines. The newest were from the early 2000’s, which I suspect is also the time, when the place was abandoned. Needless to say, that the people living here were huge readers both of books and magazines.

Moving back through the kitchen. I’m about ready with the downstairs, so there’s only one logical direction left.

Which is of course up. Now let’s take a closer look at that wall ahead.

A lovely, massive built in cupboard. I’ve never seen such a thing in my life.
There was an abandoned farm house I explored some years ago that had a room that was filled almost waist-high with old magazines. It was absolutely unreal.
