I returned home from my trip to my former home town in late August. The summer was over, it was time to return my summer car to my friend and try to live a normal life after another eventful summer.
So I decided to go on a date with a girl I had met on Tinder. Our first date was in a café, and when she heard about my hobby, she said, that she could show me some locations, which she had found.
How could I say no?

And so I found myself on the yard of this badly vandalized office building.

The building looked like it had been built in two parts. First the lower wing in the 1960’s or 1970’s and then the higher one in the late 1970’s or early 1980’s. I figured this out by their different architecture and materials.

The place was absolutely full of graffiti.

And there was a surprising amount of life on the yard, too. Some people were painting graffiti, others were drinking beer and smoking weed on the loading dock. There were even sounds of people moving around inside the two-storey wing.

And at that loading dock was an open door inside.

And here we are!

The ground floor was dark because of covered windows. The spaces were large and looked a lot like a warehouse or production facility.

These double doors were closed.

It wasn’t the most photogenic of places.

A dressing room.

There were also light walls around the space.

A kitchen. And some natural light at last.

Even the insides were full of graffiti.

Despite the large size of the building, this was the final photo I took inside. There were several reasons, why I simply didn’t like the place.
First of all it wasn’t very interesting. All furniture and stuff had been taken away. All that was left was derbris of vandalism.
But more importantly, I didn’t feel safe. It was dark, the layout was complicated, there was only one known exit and a surprisingly large amount of people inside. There were steps and sounds people breaking things everywhere. And you know my dislike for vandals. If they hit walls for fun, they might hit me for fun.
When I don’t feel safe, I don’t explore. And that’s why we gave up.

But despite abandoning the adventure, We still decided to photograph the building from the outside.

The junction of the old and new parts is clearly visible. The windows are different, the wall material is different and all in all the architecture is different.

I liked the duck!

A poor lost buddy next to new apartments built on the place of an old tin can factory.

The back side. We explored the area with the covered windows on the ground floor, while we were inside.

Same side of the building but seen from a bit further away. The entire area was undergoing a transformation from an industrial area to a residential area, and there were construction sites everywhere.

Another view from the courtyard showing the shape of the building, which resembled stairs. But this was once again to be the final image. The building was demolished in the spring of 2022.
But our date was far from over.
