The auxiliary wing and the old fashioned chimney here again.

And the main building and main entrance seen from this side.

Another view slightly left from the previous one.

An interesting looking building behidnd the hospital.

The clock tower suggests that this may be the chapel of the hospital. And although it looks old, it might just be built in an old fashion.

Behind the hospital was a group of row houses built for the staff. One of them was still inhabited, but the others were abandoned.

This one included a lower and a taller wing.

The taller wing seen here.

Again, clearly abandoned and once again inaccessible.

Four apartments in this stairway, it seems.

Again everything was locked and guarded.

This stairway was a bit larger. The names of former inhabitants are still visible.

The far end of the two storey part with two stairways.

Moving to the backside of the building.

And a look back towards the hospital from the staff apartments. That really has been a short commute to the office.
One more post coming up from this location.
The clock tower reminds me of the first house I purchased, which was an old 1-room American schoolhouse that was only 800 square feet (74 square meters).
Your first house was 74 square meters? I bought my first apartment two years ago. It is a lavish 22 square meter one 😀 And it cost me a fortune. But that’s life if you want to live in downtown Helsinki.
I’ve since upgraded to my forever home that is 1,732 square feet (160 square meters), which sits on 10.1 acres of land. It’s quite an improvement. 🙂
By the way, if you don’t like small and overpriced apartments, stay far away from this strange and often misunderstood place known to some as New York City. 😉
