Exploring With A Childhood Friend Part I

I would have been content with just seeing the abandoned block of flats, but my friend wanted to go sightseeing. She told me about a very old and very badly damaged school, which she had found while looking for a sightseeing tower.

So off we went.

And there it is. Originally the first school of the municipality, it was closed way back in the early 1970’s. It was bought by a local village association in the early 1990’s with the aim of renovating it, but the task proved to be too big. The place was abandoned.

Although all windows are broken, the walls seem to be in a surprisingly good shape.

The same can’t be said about the entrance to the basement.

Once again I skipped this part and went to look for other entrances.

And there were indeed plenty of them.

Inside we are!

I can’t really be sure what is written in black ink, but it does look like ‘Jews’. If that’s the case, this is a clear sign of bad taste.

The first classroom. The floor boards are very worn out and a bit bent.

The same view a bit wider.

There seems to be quite a lot of water on the floor, which probably means that the roof is leaking. The black tag on the wall says ‘graffiti masters’. I strongly disagree.

A third photo from the same wall this time displaying the outside. At this point a group of teenagers entered the lot. They went straight for the auxiliary building on the other side of the yard and started smashing things. When they heard that we were there, they immediately left. One of them even asked, if I’m getting good photos.

The school was heated with large ovens. There was one in almost every room, two in this one.

A messy corridor. The entrance to the school is to the right.

An even larger room, which has seemingly been the gym.

Unfortunately the photo is a bit blurred. But this has to go down to one of the most beautifully decayed rooms I’ve ever been in.

The floor was badly bent, cracked and even had holes. I didn’t want to risk a fall to the basement, so I only photographed from this end of the room.

The windows were of a majestic size. I’m pretty tall, but I believe, I could have stood straight on the window board.
