Evening Walks & Nosey Neighbours Part IV

The third floor had clearly just been office space. In fact the third floor only covered one end of the building. From the outside it looked like there was more than this, but we couldn’t find a way to access that part of the building.

In fact the narrow ladder seen in one of the pictures in the earlier posts led to this section.

The floor here was made of plastic tiles, which I’ve seen in other buildings from this era. The years have crumbled them into small bits.

An old shoe, a reminiscent from the era of active production. That one actually looks a bit like a dance shoe worn with a national dress.

The head office of the company was located here. Large wooden furniture and old books, files and catalogues.

In fact the amount of old documents here was pretty excessive.

More office desks, more file cabinets and more paper. Apparently the executives of the company had had their offices here.

And why wouldn’t they have had. The top floor corner room was usually reserved for the most important people, as it is nowadays too.

For some reason the radiators have been removed and are nowhere to be seen. Hopefully somebody has taken them to recycling.

The time to leave yet another building has come. A look back at the entrance.

The evening sun was setting beautifully.

The third floor, or the attic of the building. The entrance was from the other side of it, and there didn’t seem to be anything interesting enough for us to explore further.

The evening express. I’ve taken that particular train multiple times. That is also how I found this building in the first place.

One more room on the top floor. And this is what I mean when I say that the brick walls downstairs didn’t really look like the original ones. The bricks and the plaster between them look a lot more irregular here despite having been painted over.

In here they’ve even only painted parts of the walls. Wonder why that is.

And one final look at the corner room on the top floor.

So much for the evening walk. Now to the nosey neighbours…

When we returned to the car, we saw an old man circling it and talking to his phone. When we approached, he ended the call.

“I came to have a look. I thought you had ran out of gas and tried to find the owner of the car”, he said.

“No, we just parked there and had an evening walk”, I replied.

“Yes, this area is very good for evening walks”, he said, nodded and left.

And this very strange discussion revealed, that we both knew exactly, what was going on. He knew that we were exploring the old factory, he tried to find out who was there and alert the owners.
