What Once Was Is No More

After almost 10 years I had returned to the Southeastern part of the country. Back in the days I had photographed a huge abandoned school in the town of Hamina. I knew the place had been demolished long ago, but I still wanted to see what had been built on the spot.

I found this.

They actually didn’t demolish the school entirely. The two window rows in the middle section and the gym wing behind it are still original and now look much better than back in the days. The low annex is the new municipal swimming pool of the city.

But the block of flats which replaced the school, that one is just horrible. There’s nothing left to see here.
