Found Through Train Windows

An old railway station, my dear summer car Alice and a train. What a setting.

But I’m not here to take pictures of my car. That train runs a line, which I still took almost weekly back when this photo was taken. And there was something I had spotted through its windows.

And that was the former grocery store of the station village.

It had clearly been unused for a long time.

It was a former co-operative store. The co-operative in question was formed in 1984 through a merger of several regional co-operatives and was in turn merged to a larger regional co-operative in 1992. This means, that the store was closed between 1984 and 1992.

Unfortunately the building’s doors were locked and windows closed.

And the neighbours lived a bit too close for comfort. No success this time.
