Removing The Curse Part I

Welcome back to the Cursed School.

This beauty is a former elementary school building, which I first explored back in 2017. It was the first and so far only time ever, when I’ve left an exploration midway because the location gave off such bad vibes, hence the name.

I came back in 2021 to find all the windows and doors boarded shut. That was, when I photographed the other school building on the same lot.

But around a week before my return there were news about a small fire in the school. Small fires are often followed by big fires. I realized, that if I wanted to go through the entire building, I had to act.

So I and my friend went to the location to see, if there was a way in this time and if we could overcome my fears.

The building didn’t exactly look inviting. It was already evident, that it would be a very dark place to photograph.

I have to admit, that the feng shui again seemed pretty off. But no pain no gain.

The situation was pretty much the same on the other side of the building. In addition it seemed, that the route around the school was cleared from trees and plants. Somebody was still using it.

Almost every single gap was shut.

The only way in was through a basement window. Now, remember, I don’t do basements.

But the ability to finally finish this location for good was just too tempting. Besides, I wasn’t alone.

And here we are inside what looks like a home economics class. According to social media reports, this was a woodworking class until the late 1980’s, when the old elementary school was converted into a school of social and health care.

Behind the home economics class was another large room with what looks like huge bags of old plastic parts of toilet seats.

The photo is an extremely blurred one, but for me it is important. That is a 60 year yearbook of a bank. The building in question is located in my birth town. It is the central shopping center located in the heart of the town, and back in my childhood it was the place, where basically everything happened. I’ve spent countless great hours of my childhood buying stuff like clothes, candy and Pokémon cards there. When I went to a bar for the first time at 18, it was in that building. And yet we are almost 500 kilometers away from there. Quite a discovery.

Another basement room.

That looks like the remains of a blackboard and a silver screen. This has been a classroom.

I think we are on the ground floor now. This is a room I’ve visited earlier with lots of old books.

A smaller room at the back of the corridor.

Now this is the corridor we reached during our initial exploration back in 2017. Back then all that black stuff, which looks like old film, wasn’t here.

We even visited this room. That Nissan themed tag is new.

We didn’t get this far last time, so now it’s time for new content. Judging by my previous experiences there have probably been a lot of stuffed birds and other animals in these displays.

Another room with a lot of old furniture.

But this is a familiar room again. The very mispronounced curse on the wall is very familiar.

And even these curses are familiar. Somehow I’m not scared anymore.

Which means, that we’re going deeper. And we’re finally going to explore this school until the very end.
