The Beauty Stands Alone Now

Welcome to yet another earlier featured location. The assignment today is to spot the difference compared to the previous visit.

You are absolutely right. The 1960’s wing of the store has been demolished.

The cliffhanger I presented at the end of the previous post from here stated, that the municipality wanted to demolish the whole complex. Well, they kind of did all they could.

The museum authorities didn’t allow them to demolish the old part, though. So it still stands with windows boarded up and no running water, electricity and heating.

It is empty, as the sign says. The signs again are a bit contradictory. The first one says, that the property is not in use, trespassing is forbidden, but it is on the responsibility of the trespasser. The second one asks to watch out for falling plaster.

Once again I’m walking around the building to find a way in.

But it looks like it’s in vain again.

There’s another door, but unfortunately it was another no go.

The section of the wall, where the 1960’s wing of the building once existed. It looks like they have applied some fresh plaster on the wall. Maybe this building still has hope!

A view from the door to the insides of the old store. Oh boy, I wish that I could get inside!

But not this time. Maybe next year.
