Another cape, another old empty buidling with plywood covering its windows.
This is a summer villa built in the 1950’s by the founder of a furniture company. The location was determined by the fact that his wife’s parents had their own summer villa a stone’s throw away.
The villa was later in the recreational use of a local police association, and it still was in this use during the early part of this decade. A similar story is behind another, older villa I photographed for the last time around a year earlier.
The city has tried to find a new user to the old villa for years, but so far there had been no success.
Even the locals have become active and are trying to pressure the city into action.
The villa is next to a popular recreational route, and could provide services to people using it, the activists say.
But so far the state of the villa remains the same.
There’s even a small sauna by the sea next to the villa. Every time I’ve been here, there’s been someone sunbathing on its porch.
But wait a second, did I just say that there was another villa nearby?
