Not Used What It Was Meant For Part XI

Boo!

Sorry for the poor quality. I just wanted to show you the magnificent double doors leading from the cathedral to yet another hallway.

A hole in the wall led to a former bedroom. The bed looks old.

I’ve seen this layout downstairs. The kitchen is to the front, a living room to the left.

A neihgbouring factory can be seen through the window. Again.

A nice touch of mold on the wall.

The drawer boxes have ended up on the floor.

Up here the radiators have been left alone. They also look to be in a much better condition than downstairs.

It’s been almost three years since my visit, when I’m writing this. I have already small difficulties remembering the layout of the building, but I know that the windows opening towards other buildings are facing the road and the ones opening directly to a forest are facing the back yard. So this is a different apartment than in the previous picture.

The history and architecture of this place were wonderful. Otherwise this was just like exploring an ordinary block of flats, which was mainly empty.

Again a surprisingly modern set of cupboards.

The bed seen earlier. This time from a different angle.

Another back yard view. There’s actually a lake visible behind the trees.

“Come inside, dear”.

Another kitchen.

This apartment contained a surprising amount of things written on the walls when compared to other apartments of the same house.

“Let’s open the Corona.” In addition to being in the middle of a pandemic, the Corona is a popular brand of beer in Finland.

Just a C.

The stove seems to be a bit rusty.

Just love.

  1. I was beginning to wonder where you went as I hadn’t seen a post on your blog in quite awhile. Ten days seems like an eternity when you’re retired. lol Nice to see you back! 🙂

    1. Rather than retiring, I will most likely die of cirrhosis or lung cancer due to my bohemian lifestyle or extreme exploring. But don’t worry. I will prepare a successor to post my work posthumously, if the worst would happen.

I haven’t been able to post, because I’ve been busy. I spent last week performing and partying (and performing badly after partying) at a folk music festival, and as soon as my hangover was over, I left on an exploration trip. During the past five days I’ve managed to enter 24 new locations and check on dozens of more. As I’m still publishing stuff from July 2021 here, there won’t be a retirement soon. Unless something unexpected happens.

I will be travelling for another 3,5 weeks. After that I’ll resume my ordinary rate of publishing daily or almost daily.
