From Railway To No Way

Welcome to the Finnish countryside. What do we have hiding in the bushes here?

An old railway station, and a rather large railway station, too. The photos have been shot at 11 pm. This is how light the Finnish summer nights are, even though it’s cloudy.

The station was closed in 2006, when trains stopped stopping here.

The state has tried to sell the station for years. There have been few interested people. The main reason is, that they are planning a new highway right here. The buyer would need to move the station away.

The station does have a name. I’ve edited the photo, as I would very much like to see this beauty have a bright future and not be burned down by some idiot.

There was no way in.

An interesting place to have this sign. It has served as a target for local shooters, it seems.

Once again no way in. I have to return later.

    1. Yeah, sorry. I’ve seen too many cases of vandalism and arson to let anything out into public. I even erase newspaper titles and stuff if the papers are really small and regional.
