Again one of the beautiful old post-war-era buildings, I so admire. At first I thought it was a residential building, but I found its current state rather strange. It wasn’t too far from the center of a village and it was close to a largish factory.
A look around the corner revealed a rather different scenery. It looked like a public building, which was even more strange, as it wasn’t in the village center.
And very close were signs warning about collapse danger and something, which was clearly an old industrial building.
The building didn’t seem very tempting. It was in a much worse condition than it seems in this photo. Also there’s an old camera on top of one of the doors.
It took me ages to find out what the industrial building was, but once again old maps were of a great assistance. It was what remained of an old sawmill and brick factory, which closed down in the early 1980’s.
This also shed some light to the history of the other building, which occupied the same lot. It was probably the former office building of the company, and possibly also included a staff canteen and indeed some apartments.
But there was very little to access and see this time.
