I always say, that I photograph until it gets too dark and cold and I lose my will to do anything else than stay in my bed and drink red wine. That time of the year was approaching. It was late October, when I left for my last exploration of 2021.

This is the former city hall of Espoo. It was built in 1971 and was abandoned in 2008 because of air quality problems and water leaks. The city wanted to demolish it, but the museum authorities wanted to protect it. The demolition decision had been made but had been appealed.

I was almost certain that there would be no point of entry, but I decided to check it out anyway.

At this point the building had been abandoned for 13 years. There had been a lot of vandalism.

Like I guessed, there was no way in. And there never would be. The building was demolished in 2022.
