So, here we are at another familiar mental asylum. I visited the place for the first time in 2020, when it was almost untouched despite having been empty for quite some time. It has since been sold, but as you can soon see, the new owner has been caught off guard.

The main building built in 1952 is the oldest one in the area.

Its architecture is strikingly different from all other mental asylums in Finland. I’ve seen almost all of them.

As I said, it was almost untouched back in 2020. Now the first cracks have started to appear.

And I am of course looking for cracks large enough to fit me.

This end of the building has been constructed in the 1980’s, the rest of it in the late 1950’s.

The wing connecting the buildings is also from the 1980’s.

The architects have been skillful enough to make the age of the annex unnoticeable.

That is the part where the 1980’s building meets the 1950’s building.

This looks like there have been ways in. I am just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The early 1950’s main building seen from the courtyard.

The skylights are probably also a product of the 1980’s.

And so is this bay.

This part of the building doesn’t fit in as well as the center wing. It actually looks more like early 1990’s architecture.

Another door, which has needed a double block. People are breaking in for real now.
But will I find a way in? There will be answers in the following post.
