This here is a former elementary school in the municipality of Kuortane. It was built in 1958-60 and closed in 2021 when a new school was completed.
I am here because a strange chain of events. A few days earlier I visited the area where my less beloved family is from. On my Instagram story I shared why that made me feel difficult. A friend I met through a theater group started reacting to them with the cry-laughing emoji, which I found pretty strange. The following day she apologized. She had left her phone open and her toddler had reacted to all stories.
She was originally from this village and was visiting her home, so we agreed to meet. And she took me to see her abandoned former school.
We found no further open doors. And eventually there would be none. The building was demolished in the spring of 2023.
